CAPTURED MOMENT / LANDSCAPE THROUGH GLASS https://capturedmoment.uk/read/landscape-through-glass/ Mark C Grant's photograph and account; these are exercise settings, not his capture settings. Work as a seated passenger. Keep the original monochrome rendering and all 12 exposures. 1-4: compare 1/500, 1/125, 1/30, 1/8 second where light and camera limits allow. Record focal length, aperture, ISO, shutter speed and direction of view. Compensate exposure. 5-8: hold one shutter speed; change your distance/angle to the window slightly. Find the reflection. If you wear glasses, notice how rims and highlights reveal or interrupt your gaze. 9-12: seek a relationship between outside forms and your reflected camera, hands or eyes. Stationary-window alternative: use passing subjects; do not claim the same moving-camera geometry. Keep a full-frame contact sheet. Select 3: depth/movement, reflection, personal association. Write for each: WHAT IS VISIBLE / WHAT I KNOW / WHAT I FEEL OR IMAGINE. Sequence the three. Ask another viewer to look before reading your captions. What did the experiment reveal that your plan did not predict?
