CAPTURED MOMENT — FORM / USE / RELATION Tina Modotti: geometry has a working life. One accessible place. One focal length. Thirty minutes. Twelve single exposures. Consistent B&W rendering; change exposure and focus as necessary. 1–4 STRUCTURE: lines, planes, repeated shapes. 5–8 USE: a willing person's activity, or objects and wear without people. 9–12 RELATION: put structure and use in the same frame. Ask before close collaborative photographs; accept no. Never distract workers, enter restricted areas or repeat unsafe actions. Label arranged scenes honestly. Keep all twelve, including misses. Make a full-frame contact sheet tomorrow. Choose three: place / action or trace / a frame that changes the first two. For each: What can I actually see? What do I know? What am I interpreting? Review: Does form clarify the action? Have I reduced a person to a shape? Which miss explains the chosen frame? Which caption invents too much? Show the three without explanation, then listen before defending them. Optional Studio comparison: same crop, original tones / edited tones, one reason. https://capturedmoment.uk/read/tina-modotti-geometry-and-working-life/
