Leaves below the night lights

Fallen leaves fill the foreground beneath blurred street lights and a white van in Ormskirk. Black and white photograph by Mark C Grant.

The low viewpoint gives the curled leaves more presence than the buildings. Behind them, strings of lights soften into round marks; the pavement is the place where the picture becomes tangible.

Ormskirk, 30 October 2026. Mark remembers a quiet Friday before Halloween, with a few people already dressed for the occasion and a fresh covering of autumn leaves. Original camera rendering and complete frame retained.
