One lamp and the distant street

A bright street lamp fills the upper part of a vertical frame, with smaller lights receding into darkness below. Black and white photograph by Mark C Grant.

The large white shade is almost a cut-out against the black sky. Below it, the glossy support and distant pinpoints give just enough depth to stop the photograph becoming a flat sign.
